XRS-2 PhotosLTTO and Launch →Release the Weather Balloon!

A greyness permeates the image of the launch tower, as the small globe of a weather balloon appears to its left. (53K JPEG)

It's 8:10 AM in Japan, and the weather is miserable. This weather balloon went up for a while, then back down, up some, down again, and all around. Guess the winds are a bit swirly. Or it's looking for a former secret agent. At about 9:00 the launch was scrubbed until no earlier than July 8 JST.
