XRS-2 PhotosLTTO and Launch →The Helium Service Attendants

5 serious-faced men stand in front of a translucent curtain, behind which the round surface of the rocket is foggily visible. (101K JPEG)

Here's the crew ready to service the helium insert. This is on the 8th floor of the launch tower, which is where we access XRS through the small hole in the nose fairing. They will begin topping off the insert with superfluid liquid helium (at about 1.3 Kelvin) two days before launch. How are those hard hats sitting? Pretty cunning, wouldn't you say?
