The foot-long cylinder of the ADR lies horizontally in a temporary support, as many blue-gloved hands work to verify that the dimensions are all correct. (90K JPEG)

Attaching the Front-End Assembly to the Adiabatic Demagnetization Refrigerator is a long, careful process, requiring many hands. The small fan to the left of the ADR is blowing a stream of ions, to help prevent the buildup of static charge. Even a tiny zap of static can destroy the electronic components.
